ALLIANCE SERVICES PROVIDED TO NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND YMCAs

There are currently 29 State and Regional State Alliances (including Puerto Rico) in the Y Network. 17 State Alliances. 12 Regional Alliances. We are a Regional Alliance.

Alliances provide consulting services for six key functions:

  1. Elevate and Advance Advocacy within the Alliance
  2. Facilitate Strategy and Planning
  3. Facilitate the Strengthening of Governing Boards
  4. Build Collaborative Efforts among Ys and other organizations through shared services, management agreements, mergers
  5. Facilitate Effective Executive Transition in partnership with Y-USA’s CEO Search Team and leads new CEO Onboarding
  6. Capital Readiness

Our Alliance supports statewide and strategic initiatives such as:

  1. Elevation of the Y Brand & Mission
    • Create state and regional community impact statements
    • Coordinate strategic events and marketing on state and regional levels
  2. Public Policy
    • Coordinate state-level advocacy to advance YMCA priorities
    • Engage Public Policy Committees and contract lobbyists for each state
    • Coordinate participation in National Advocacy Days
    • Plan/Execute State Advocacy Days
  3. Resource Development
    • Secure funds to support YMCAs in 4 key areas: Youth Development (Childcare, School-Age Care, and Camp); Chronic Disease Prevention; Mental Health; and Hunger Relief
    • Coordinate shared Service Contracts – membership software, payroll & HR software, marketing software, electricity (ME)
  4. Leadership Development & Knowledge Sharing
    • Facilitate peer learning and collaboration amongst Ys across Northern New England to advance shared priorities
    • Engage local YMCA staff on national, regional, and state committees, task forces, and boards
    • Execute annual leadership conference for Y staff and volunteers
    • Coordinate content experts to share and innovate on weekly calls
