November 15, 2024 – The YMCA Alliance of Northern New England proudly recognized three YMCA youth development staff members at the annual Northern New England Leadership Conference in Portland.

Continuing a legacy established by the New Hampshire Governor’s Council on Physical Activity & Health, the Alliance presented the Character and Resilience Together (CHART) Awards to individuals exemplifying strong character and resilience in their work with young people. Each awardee was nominated by their colleagues and selected by a panel of YMCA staff from around the region.

Congratulations to this year’s honorees:

• Kelsey Coyle (Greater Burlington YMCA)
• Keegan Wakana (Bangor Region YMCA)

The CHART Awards, originally introduced in 2023 to honor educators across New Hampshire, are now a hallmark of the YMCA’s commitment to recognizing the dedicated individuals shaping our next generation. By continuing this tradition at the Northern New England Leadership Conference, the Alliance celebrates the vital role youth development staff play in fostering character, resilience, and a brighter future for the communities we serve.
