One high school teen at the Teen Center described the impact it has had on his life:

“I was referred to the Teen Center by my therapist and have been attending since September 2022. I’ve been coming 2-4 days a week. I have a parent who experiences ups and downs in their sobriety and I struggle with having a stable home life.”

“When I first started coming to the Teen Center, I was shy and reserved in sharing about my personal life and making new friends. The Teen Center has given me a safe space outside of school and provided me with new relationships. I’ve gained the confidence to become an active member in the rainbow alliance club and I’m now an ambassador for new participants when they arrive. I’ve observed a noticeable difference since I started attending the Teen Center on good days versus bad days. I get the support I need on the bad days.”

Alliance of NNE Offers Free Mental Health Awareness Trainings with the Sweetser Training Institute for Maine YMCAs

May 1, 2024 – The YMCA Alliance of Northern New England is pleased to announce a partnership with the Sweetser Training Institute to offer free mental health training for YMCA staff in Maine this spring. On April 26, 12 YMCA staff from four YMCA Associations gathered at the Boothbay Region YMCA for the first Youth Mental Health First Aid Training of the spring series.

1,700 YMCA Staff and Members Attend YMCA Day at Fenway Park

April 18, 2024 – The YMCA Alliance of Northern New England joined with its neighboring YMCA Alliances in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island to hold YMCA Day at Fenway Park in partnership with the Boston Red Sox on April 18. More than 1,700 YMCA staff, members and program participants from across New England joined the fun as the Red Sox took on the Cleveland Guardians.
